Why We Made Workwear Before We Made Stickers

The first SPIKE BINS branded thing we ever cut was a hi-vis vest. Not a t-shirt, not a sticker, not a hat — a vest. Because the driver standing next to a tilting 30-yard bin in February at 4 PM in Caledonia is the guy whose gear has to work first. Everything else came after. Field Notes No. 7.

What "driver-grade" actually means

The lineup is short and deliberate. ANSI Class 2 hi-vis vest, year-round. Insulated bib, October through March. Watch cap. Gloves rated for grip on cold steel. Softshell jacket layer for the shoulder seasons. Every SKU got vetted by a driver who'd already worn three versions of it on jobsites. If a piece didn't last a winter, it didn't make the catalog.

What's deliberately not in the lineup

No fashion tees. No founder hoodie. No promotional pens. The lineup is gear that goes on a body that's working — and the brand mark is on it because the crew earned it, not because we wanted to push merch. If a piece didn't make sense on a jobsite, we didn't cut a SKU for it. We'll get to stickers and hats once the workwear catalog covers everyone who needs it.

Why this matters for customers

Customers who order Spike Bins workwear are mostly the GCs and supers who've worked with our drivers and want to outfit their own crews to match. The brand mark on a vest isn't a logo — it's a signal that the wearer knows the operating standard. Loyalty isn't a discount stack here; it's who shows up wearing the same vest in the same yard. If your crew is going to be in our orbit anyway, putting the gear on them is the cheapest team-fit signal you can buy.

What we do about it

The full workwear lineup is on the navigation under Workwear. Stickers are coming, after we've earned them. If your crew needs an outfit and you want to match the operating standard, the order form is there.
